Company History
Leitner-Poma of America, Inc. is a North American subsidiary of Poma S.A., a corporation with headquarters in Voreppe, France and a sister company of Leitner AG, a corporation with headquarters in Sterzing, Italy. Leitner–Poma of America engineers, manufactures, installs and services all types of ropeway systems for the ski industry, amusement parks, and urban transport.
In 1981 Leitner-Poma of America, Inc. was established with a factory and offices in Grand Junction, Colorado, in order to have a stronger manufacturing, sales and service base in North America. Grand Junction – which is located in Western Colorado near the Utah border — was selected because its geographic location enables POMA to give first-rate service to ski area markets all across North America.
